Seasons of the Vineyard Wine Shop

Join us October 24th & 25th for a trunk show featuring the beautiful, handcrafted designs of Artist Christine Sisco from Treestump Woodcrafts, now exclusively available in wine country at Seasons of the Vineyard Wine Shop!

The Trunk Show is Friday and Saturday, 11am - 6pm. On Saturday, enjoy live jazz by the Terrance Brewer Trio while you sip Ferrari-Carano and Lazy Creek Vineyards wines with small bites from Rhonda's Kitchen.

Artist Christine Sisco is renowned for her handcrafted, turquoise-inlaid mesquite wood cutting boards, lazy susans, sushi boards and utensils. Christine has mastered woodworking techniques unique to her work, inlaying turquoise and stone into the natural cracks of American hardwood, like mesquite, black walnut, cherry and bird's eye maple, to create elegant, functional art. Utilizing the inherent natural cracks and knots, she is able to use really interesting pieces of wood that otherwise would never see their full potential. Everything Christine creates is fully functional and is meant to be used. "Often we hear from customers that our work is too pretty to use but we disagree. We feel that life is too short not to surround yourself with beauty."

Christine and her husband, Ron, developed the concept of enhancing wood with stone based on ancient Chinese practices learned in an art history class. "In the Ming Dynasty, cracks in porcelain were often filled with gold. We decided to try the same thing with turquoise in our artisan wood works." says Christine.
